Claim is organized both geographically and according to broad coverage types: auto (liability and damage), property, general liability, workers compensation and specialty coverages. A separate Bond & Financial Products Claim organization exists to meet the specialized needs of surety and management liability clients.
RTBA Project description : There is an exiting suite of real time business analytic reports, called OPMI reports, that are used within the Claim field organization to manage operational Claim activities and ultimately Claim business performance. These reports are inflexible to changing business needs and manual processes are being developed and used on-site to accommodate these limitations. The manual processes are inconsistent across the 27 Claim field offices (and their satellite locations), and this has engendered inconsistencies in office performance and customer service delivery. This situation also reduces work productivity for the approximately 9,000 field OPMI users.
Many of the systems enhancements being requested are related to data filtering, sorting, aggregation and drill downs within reports. There are also inconsistencies in analytic capabilities across reports.
This is a discretionary project that would improve the OPMI analytical capabilities and enhance overall field work productivity. Also, the implementation would utilize Claim end state reporting and data infrastructure, permitting the sunset of some legacy data infrastructure.
Project Objectives:

• Re-write all OPMI reports (excluding the Dashboard functionality) in 2009, including basic functionality enhancements in all re-writes and report redesign in certain business-critical cases.
• Re-write reports in a phased approach, to deliver meaningful business value as soon as possible and at regular intervals throughout 2009.
• Deliver all functionality in COGNOS, the strategic end-state reporting tool for Claim.
• Utilize Claim’s strategic Real Time data platform to source the re-written reports.
