Complete Description: The Storage and Virtualization Administrator will provide support to Virtual Infrastructure and Storage Infrastructure for Iowa Workforce Development. The position requires someone that is detail oriented with a strong desire to provide exceptional service. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of assignments associated with VMWare systems, NetApp and Windows Systems administration. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the design, administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance of VMware systems, hosting hardware, storage infrastructure and Microsoft Windows servers.
Responsibilities include:
• ESXi scripting experience and automation in support in server commissioning and maintenance
• Diagnostic of and troubleshooting common guest / host issues
• Monitor resources usage, making required adjustments for host / guest issues
• Virtual machine creation, cloning, and configuration
• VMware cluster configuration
• NetApp SAN configuration experience
• Maintain network security by managing host security, file permissions, file system integrity, and adding and deleting users
• Virtual Center administration and troubleshooting
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; including documentation
• Develops and maintains appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current.
• Maintain high level of proficiency in all VMware and Microsoft technologies
• Assist with user access and group polices configuration and deployment
• Provides backup to Sr. Windows Engineer and Storage and Virtualization Engineer as needed
Will be required to be accessible 24x7 in case of emergency
Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written correspondence) in a professional and courteous manner with technical and non-technical personnel
