Knowledge requirement (Education & Experience):BA/BS in a technical discipline or 5+ yrs equivalent experience

Advanced database administration skills using Oracle, SQL Server, or legacy database platforms

Solid relational database design practices

Must have working knowledge of:

Disk storage technology (EMC or Client)

Operating Systems (UNIX or Windows NT)

Project management and system development life cycles (SDLCs).

Skill requirements (include complexity of position)

Ability to solve problems in a systematic fashion, identifying alternative solutions where possible

Comprehensive analysis and optimization of complex SQL code

Database coding – scripting, OS shell scripting, debugging, data modeling, stored procedures, triggers, and packages

Database imports/exports or other data unloading/loading tools and utilities

Knowledge of technologies outside the database is occasionally required - web, programming languages, messaging, networks protocols, network hardware, object-oriented and component-based development
