Job Description:

Sr. level Microsoft SQL database administrator with extensive expertise in Microsoft 20082016 SQL database. The database engineer should possess 8+ years of hands on, enterprise level experience.

Program seeks a Sr. level Microsoft SQL database administrator with extensive expertise in Microsoft 2008-2016 SQL database. The database administrator will be part of a team supporting hundreds of databases in an enterprise virtual and cloud infrastructure. This position requires coordination with the customer, as well as a variety of technical personnel with different specialized skills. The team based environment is fast moving and has high expectations for quality of work and turnaround times. Candidate must have extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows, Active Directory and SQL databases. 

Responsibilities: 

• Administers a Microsoft SQL Server versions 2008, 2012 and 2016 database systems 
• Expert knowledge of the Structured Query Language (SQL) environment with particular emphasis on planning, analysis, design and implementation of reports and report interfaces intended for the end user. 
• Develops and enforces database administration and user standards and procedures; audits, modifies, and amends data in systems using SQL commands 
• In-depth knowledge and hands on experience of database transaction log and backups 
• In-depth knowledge and hands on experience of database replication between multiple SQL Servers and remote sites 
• Assists Database Designers/Information System Analysts in the development and creation of SQL and Webbased databases and database systems 
• Hands on experience creates and maintains SQL Virtual Machines running at VMWare and Microsoft Hyper-V environment. 
• Manage deployment of SQL VM on virtual environment. 
• Hands on experience with Microsoft Database management systems. 
• In-depth knowledge and hands on experience of backup and restoration procedures for Microsoft SQL database systems 
• Hands on experience with Microsoft SQL database tuning and optimization 
• In-depth knowledge and hands on experience of database replication between multiple SQL Servers and remote sites 
• Over 5+ years of hands-on DBA support for SQL 2012 high availability architecture installations 
• Expert knowledge of SQL internals, networking, Tier 2 and Tier 3 application architecture 
• Ability to provide on-call and after hours support for deployments and patch fixes 
• Documentation skills are a huge plus 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience.
