Job Description:
  • 16+ years of experience as a hands-on project leader for Mainframe hardware
  • and  Operating System software, with a focus on  IBM's z/OS.
  • OCTO Mainframe Support Services monitors and trouble-shoots all of our
  • mainframe hardware devices, network infrastructure and our district agencies
  • host applications. Mainframe Support is responsible for monitoring 2
  • mainframe platforms. Mainframe Support must ensure seamless, non-disruptive
  • system maintenance activities to minimize impact on our customer's
  • production environments and to ensure adherence to each agencies service
  • level commitments. OCTO is looking for a hands on Project Leader for the
  • support of Mainframe hardware and Operating systems with a focus on the IBM
  • z/OS.
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates, plans, installs and maintains the z/OS and z/VM Operating
  • systems and related software products.
  • Develops operational standards; may coordinate the conversion of existing
  • systems to enable exploitation or   coexistence with new computer hardware
  • and/or software.
  • Plans, coordinates, and monitors project activities.
  • Maintains and analyzes system performance, identifies trends and
  • potential problems, and recommends solutions and alterations based on
  • analyses. Identifies requirements for additional resources, or changes in
  • current system components.
  • Provides training for system products and procedures.
  • Troubleshoots problems.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent
experience
