Job Description: 

The IT Infrastructure Project Manager will be responsible for the coordination and completion of projects. He or she will oversee all aspects of projects, sets deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of project. He or she will prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project and lead and direct the work of others.

Job Description/ Requirements:

The IT Infrastructure technical Project Manager will be responsible for the design, coordination, and completion of infrastructure projects. He or she will oversee all aspects of infrastructure projects including: identifying requirements, determining infrastructure design and architecture, collaborating with vendors, estimating budgets and resources, documenting solutions, creating change tickets for implementation, monitoring progress, providing reporting, transitioning solutions to operational support, and assisting with resolving issues.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Determining project infrastructure requirements including security, performance, availability, redundancy, disaster recovery, storage, CPU, memory, connectivity, and software release levels
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effectively communicating project requirements
  • Consulting with IT Security and Operational groups for direction and planning
  • Creating project plans, cost, and resource estimates
  • Determining priorities, dependencies, resource requirements, timelines and deployment schedules
  • Tracking project milestones and deliverables
  • Architecting infrastructure in compliance with Daimler standards and guidelines
  • Collaborating with IT Service Catalog manager to determine billing estimates, finalize charges, and order equipment
  • Creating and coordinating appropriate change ticketing for infrastructure implementation:
  • Proper network placement and connectivity
  • Hardware installation, configuration, and cabling
  • Device OS configuration
  • Storage allocation
  • Supporting project teams as required in initial deployment, and roll outs
  • Assisting in debugging efforts and coordinating issue resolution as required
  • Creating progress reports, presentations and policies as required
  • Proactively managing changes in project scope, identifying potential crises, and devising contingency plans
  • Coaching, mentoring, motivating and supporting project team members and influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
