Short Description:

The Programmer is responsible for analysis, design, coding, documentation and  testing of user interface application code written in .NET 4.0 technology, and works closely with the development team.

Complete Description:

Project Background:

Ohio Motor Carrier Information System (OMCIS) is a user centric system that greatly simplifies the process for inputting and retrieving data relative to commercial motor carriers in Ohio. It is a one-stop-shop for motor carriers doing business with the PUCO and accessible from the internet for the public and registered users.  Each person accessing the system would have specific levels of access which would provide them more or less information depending upon who they are.

The system will perform several important functions when completed.  First, it will extract Ohio specific data from the SafetyNet server relative to inspections, compliance reviews, safety audits, crashes and carrier demographic data and display that information on an internet based portal to the public, media and carriers.  Second, it will permit carriers to register and make payments online for the Unified Carrier Registration Program (UCR), Ohio Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity, Uniform Program for Hazardous Materials, and annual PUC tax renewals.  In addition to filing registration materials and making online payments, the system will also provide a means to upload documents such as tariffs and proof of financial responsibility.  Third, the system will provide a means for which motor carriers and drivers will be able to conduct business electronically with the PUCO as it relates to Civil Forfeitures.  This system will allow internal PUCO staff to analyze violations, create letters to notify carriers of fines, schedule conferences to resolve disputes over fines, permit carriers to make online payments, and allow companies to view case histories as they relate to forfeiture cases.

Development of the system is in progress and expected to be deployed in April 2013. We are looking for a programmer to join the team to assist with the continued development of this state of the art user interface utilizing Microsoft's .NET 4.0 framework technologies (VB.NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server 2008, etc.).   Please see the skills tab for required/desired skills.
