The Business Intelligence Developer and BI Modeler is responsible for developing Business Object Universes, Reports, Dashboards, and Explorer, as well as integrating with existing applications. The incumbent will need extensive experience in using Business Objects version XI 4.0 and BW HANA.
Essential Job Functions:
- Analyze and write business requirements to address reporting solutions
- Plan and facilitate business analysis sessions, capture the information, and produce the deliverables from the business analysis sessions
- Document business definitions of data and develop ERM, DFD and translate to BW star schema
- Assist in the writing of the technical requirements document, data flow diagrams, and source/target mapping for the writing of extraction transformation and loading routines
- Develop database designs using standard dimensional modeling techniques, star schema design, master data attributes and time-dependent characteristics
- Lead the design and development of complete data architecture and structures that support business requirements using SAP Business Warehouse (BW) which include BW Infocubes, design and development of DSO, multiproviders, and info sets
- BW Hana In memory concepts to develop SAP Netweaver BW BICS queries, NetWeaver BW Cubes, Queries and Workbooks
- Create Data Models on SAP NetWeaver BW on HANA, SAP HANA Studio
- Work with end-users to create reporting templates and mock ups
- Debug and solve problems by tracing from the report all the way to the source
- Education: Master’s degree in an IT related field
- Role Specific Experience: 7+ years relevant experience
- Extensive experience in Business Objects Development with XI 4.0 Web Intelligence report creation and Crystal Reports 2008
- SAP NetWeaver BW on HANA, SAP BusinessObjects Explorer on HANA
- SAP NetWeaver BW BICS queries, SAP ABAP, SAP R/3, Database Design, ETL Design and Informatica
- COMPOSITE Data Services and Web Services
- Strong report development experience in using Webi and Webi Rich client
- Extensive experience creating universes against SAP BW OLAP sources
- Strong experience with the design and creation of complex relational and multi-dimensional logical and physical data models
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Expert understanding of Business Objects Integration with SAP and release of latest suite of tools
- Expert knowledge of Business objects/BI Workbooks integration with SharePoint and Microsoft office
- Expert implementation knowledge of integrating BI queries using data virtualization technologies
- Expert knowledge of HANA modelling and creating analytical and calculation views
- Expert knowledge of Business Objects SDK with JAVA and JSF knowledge
- Solid knowledge of building dashboard based on the Mock ups provided
- Expert knowledge of SQL to analyze and asses the generated SQL from a Webi Report
- Expert knowledge on SAP Business Intelligence tools like SAP BusinessObjects Explorer, SAP BusinessObjects Semantic layer, SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence, SAP BusinessObjects Analysis and SAP BusinessObjects Live Office
- Proven ability to serve as a Technical Developer responsible for delivering solutions and meeting business needs
- Highly skilled in the creation of Attribute, calculation and Analytical views in BW HANA Studio
- Strong analytical, problem-identification/solving skills, as well as strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with concepts around Data Virtualization, Information as a Service
- Should have 7+ years of experience in design and development of comprehensive data warehousing solutions using SAP data warehousing tools and programming languages- BW, HANA, BO and ABAP.
- Experience in designing new solutions using SAP BW on HANA or native HANA to deliver capabilities meeting business functional requirements.
- Extensive experience in writing ABAP code to develop custom extractors.
- Implementing SAP BW on HANA specific modelling scenarios using Composite Providers and exposing BW objects in HANA, ADSO etc. and knowledge in real time replication .
- Automation of data flows using process chains and APDs for custom data flow scenarios.
- Experience in development of SQL/PLSQL procedures and analyze and asses the generated SQL from any source.
- Strong data analytical, problem-identification/solving skills, as well as strong written and oral communications.
- Good understanding of Business Objects Integration with SAP BW and release of latest suite of tools.
- Plan and facilitate business analysis sessions, capture the information and produce the deliverables from the business analysis sessions, document business definitions of data and develop ERM, DFD.
- Level III - 7+ years of experience.
