General Account of Position:
 
The temporary developer will work to convert code from legacy programming languages into Database processes.
 
Project Description
  • The goal of this project is to migrate all processes off of GAZOO to other software applications.
  • PL/SQL , COBOL and Pro C code needs to be converted to an Oracle database application.
  • The following functions on GAZOO must be redesigned to work in a new environment:
  • Data Transfers, SMTP Email, Printers/Reports and Batch Jobs.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Read, understand, and debug code.
  • Develop procedures using Oracle PL/SQL
  • Perform and assist in software development testing for quality assurance.
  • Redesign batch processes to run in a new environment
Other Responsibilities:
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Required Competencies:
  • Experience Oracle PLSQL developer
  • Experience with Oracle relational database and developer tools
  • Ability to work effectively in an MS Windows environment
  • Work effectively with MS-Office products and Jira business software
  • Possess a working knowledge of programming languages
  • Work effectively with MS-Office products and Jira business software
  • Experience with Oracle Forms a plus
  • Experience with Oracle APEX a plus
  • Experience with VAX/JCL is a plus

Education and Experience
  • Four-year college diploma or university degree in computer science preferred.
  • Three to five years of computer programming experience.
  • Three to five years of Oracle PL/SQL
  • Some working knowledge of Oracle forms
  • Working knowledge of programming languages (Preferable ProC and COBOL)
  • Effective personal computer and keyboarding skills.
