We have an immediate need for a Web Developer.  They will start on an “Implementing Web Standards” project and will then move onto other web strategic initiative efforts.  The duration of the initial contract is 6 months with the possibility of an extension.  

Required core competencies:

Extensive experience with HTML5 standards.

Extensive experience with CSS3.

Extensive experience with Javascript and JQuery.

Excellent knowledge of hand-coded HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the DOM.

Knowledge of JavaScript/UI libraries and their use in implementing AJAX solutions.

Accessibility and SEO knowledge.

Implementing and consuming cross platform Web Services like JSON/REST.

Familiarity with progressive enhancement and responsive web design.

Familiarity with Flash.

Ability to work in a command-line Unix environment.

Excellent written and oral English-language skills.      

Nice to have:

Java experience.

Unix shell scripting experience.

Graphic design experience.
