Should have demonstrated experience and proficiency in managing and maintaining AIX environment, will be responsible for - Installing, configuring and maintaining AIX Servers. - Strong in Power 5/Pseries configuration, LPAR, VPAR, DLPAR, VIO concepts and implementation. - Configuration and administration of Logical volume manager. - Strong in Storage, HA concepts, SAN environment -Experience in HACMP administration - Changing Kernel Parameters - Patch and Package administration - Printer , NIS, NFS, Samba administration. - Strong in troubleshooting Hardware and Operating system related issue. - Strong knowledge in Configuration and administration of - VERITAS Volume Manager - Veritas Filesystem. - Veritas Cluster Server - Writing shell/perl scripts to accomplish day to day system administration task - Experience in System Fault Tolerance Design, Business continuity and Disaster recovery planning. - Certification on AIX(IBM System Administration.

MANDATORY SKILLS-
Good knowledge in most aspects of AIX System Administration
Strong knowledge on Unix Fundamentals and Internals
Hands-on experience on AIX native LVM. Partitioning, volume group related activities.
Troubleshooting skills on OS, LVM and related system issues
Familiarity with system security, SAN connectivity, HACMP.
Familiarity with enterprise monitoring systems& ticketing systems
Good written and verbal communications along with technical documentation skills
AIX related certifications would be an added advantage.

SUPPLEMENTARY SKILLS-
Exposure to other Unix-based OSes
Basic Programming knowledge in Shell or Perl on automating daily tasks
Experience on NIM server tasks
Exposure to IBM VIO and APV BEHAVIORAL.

HA environment management

ï‚· In-Depth knowledge of LPARs and Micro partitioning virtualization environment.
ï‚· Must have expertise in design, development and management of HACMP Cluster environment.
ï‚· Should have expertise in volume management.
ï‚· Strong in File and Print Server Management; 
ï‚· Should have expertise in backup products.
ï‚· Should have worked with OEM hardware (IBM RS6000, 7038-6M2,7026-H70,7017-S85,7028-6C4, p5 & p6 servers)
ï‚· Should have work experience on IBM high end servers (p590)
ï‚· Should have experience in patch and package management is AIX environment.
ï‚· Should have good knowledge of Shell scripting.
ï‚· Good Proficiency in System Fault Tolerance Design, Business continuity and Disaster recovery planning.
ï‚· Capacity planning and Fine tune system for optimal performance
ï‚· Should have work experience in LDAP, Tivoli.
ï‚· Knowledge/experience in management and troubleshooting of Linux will be an advantage.
