Essential Job Functions:
  • Familiarity with AppDynamics and how to effectively monitor systems / applications.
  • Expert in Splunk search language and be able to create and optimize complex big data queries and reports.
  • Ability to extract data from APIs / applications / systems to provide visibility into application / system health through creative dashboards / reporting.
  • Expert in Splunk and Splunk Enterprise architecture in order to design, implement, and deliver business solutions efficiently and effectively.
  • Experience in knowledge object creation and usage across the enterprise, normalization of event data, and management of knowledge objects, data models and developing macros.
  • Experience with Python and/or other data science languages a plus.
  • Ability to build business & operational intelligence dashboards and glass tables using Splunk & Splunk ITSI.
  • Experience implementing solutions using Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI).
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Excellent understanding of how to reliably monitor and alert on critical application issues.
  • Good understanding of Operating Systems, Networks, hardware and related issues.
  • Solid ability to analyze results and find the root cause of problems.
  • Solid ability to identify areas of suspect performance in complex application architectures.
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to learn and adopt new technologies quickly.
The individual in this role will:
  • Have in-depth knowledge of the Splunk Query Language and applying it to solve business problems within the ITSFE work program.
  • Work with the Splunk Admins in all phases of getting data into Splunk (from pre-indexing to post-indexing and statistical data analysis).
  • Develop python scripts to modify the complex searches with enhanced customized features.
  • Perform infrastructure / application monitoring & automation within ITSFE systems / applications to gain valuable insights through data and predictive analytics capabilities.
  • Ability to apply machine learning capabilities to solve complex problems within the ITSFE portfolio.
  • Assist in data governance & management of data.
  • Work with various teams to identify and capture relevant logs, assist the infrastructure team with onboarding data related to ITSFE systems / applications, and
  • Develop use-cases within the ITSFE team to solve business problems and provide valuable insights for decision making.
  • The monitoring specialist will have the ability to communicate within all levels of staff and provide documentation where necessary.
  • Aid in application performance tuning and review.
  • Advise on new system upgrades and implementations.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS and XML for UI design within Splunk / Splunk ITSI / AppDynamics dashboards for data visualization.
  • Interface with project leads and developers to design and create new dashboards / glass tables based on business requirements and deliver on time.
Educational Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Math, Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years advanced experience in using Splunk, Splunk ITSI, and python for data analytics.
