Description: 
  • This role will be part of the Infrastructure Operations team, delivering support services to the Enterprise's global network with Excellence. Managing and supporting major components including but not limited to: 
  • Cisco Systems routers, switches, firewalls, wireless devices, identity-security engine 
  • F5 BigIP Viprion network load-balancers 
  • Palo Alto Networks PAN-3xxx, PAN-5xxx and PAN-7xxx NextGen Firewalls 
  • Other utilities includes TACACS, Zabbix, NetMRI, IPAM, Cisco Prime and ISE 
Responsibilities:
  • As the Network Operations Engineer, you will be responding to escalated events and exceptions in the network infrastructure that were escalated from our IT NOC, TechForce. 
  • You will be accountable for determining, developing and executing changes in the network adhering to the Salesforce IT’s Change Management process with inputs from the Capacity Management process, events/exceptions and/or other Engineering teams. 
  • Other responsibilities and tasks include performing various network assessments, participating in projects supporting our Operations Excellence objectives, Capacity Management assessment and trending analysis. 
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor degree in the IT related focus and 4 years experience in the IT networking field or at least 7 years experience in the IT networking field. Recent experience working in the NOC environment, large global enterprise infrastructure experience including global data center experience. Minimum requirements are (at least two of the below): 
  • Cisco CCNP certification in any of the Networking track(s) 
  • Practical knowledge of Palo Alto Networks’ firewalls, i.e. PAN-OS including Panorama 6.x and 7.x 
  • Knowledge of F5 BigIP deployment and support 
  • Knowledge of the ITIL framework 
  • Practical knowledge of Cisco ISE, composing complex Splunk search syntax, excellent practical detail knowledge of infrastructure monitoring and management best practices 
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting focus 
  • Good configuration and troubleshooting skills set with all the major Infrastructure components including Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, wireless and voice; as well as Palo Alto Networks’ firewalls and F5 BigIP. Having the ability to participate in an ongoing and intensive troubleshooting sessions including collaborating with other teams. 
  • Strong practical understanding of the various LAN, WAN protocols including i/eBGP, OSPF, MPLS, spanning-tree, security negotiation and key exchange mechanisms, voice and video codecs including configuration methodologies. As well as having some level of subject-matter expertise with interpreting syslog and SNMP messages. 
Additional Desired Qualifications: 
  • The below certifications, experiences and knowledge are highly desirable in addition to the requirements above: 
  • Palo Alto Networks A.C.E. or PCNSE 
  • F5 BigIP certifications 
  • Splunk certifications 
  • Good experience with cloud infrastructure including exposure to the major cloud services such as AWS and Google Suite particularly Google Hangout, Google Mail, Drive, etc.
