POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for building and maintaining complex online interactive learning courseware for the Railroad Education & Development Instructional Design team. Courseware types include static, dynamic and simulation. Take direction from creative teams, Project Managers, SMEs and QA resources. A qualified candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience developing web-based training and simulations for e-learning systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with Product Development teams, Project Managers, SMEs and QA resources to review and understand the business requirements and functional specifications, planning, estimation, documentation and status reporting
• Participate in architecture, design and code reviews
• Manages development standards for AICC, content usability and accessibility, and processes
• Be well documented
• Ensure online content is consistent with the learning objectives and supports the instructional design
• Work with QA team for code build/releases, test case design and defect resolution
• Designs and develops interfaces for online portals
• Produce and author content under tight time constraints
• Mentor other team members on Captivate, Flash, Flex design and development
• Be well documented

REQUIREMENTS:
• 5 years’ experience with Adobe eLearning Suite; Action Script, Captivate, ColdFusion 9, Flash, Flex, Photoshop, Presenter and XML
• Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET/C#, SQL (advanced) stored procedures, Web Services and IIS Server Controls
• Minimum of 2 years of Instructional Design experience
• Knowledge of emerging e-learning technologies and trends, AICC, SCORM 1.2 & 2004
• Experience with source control tools, IBM Rational Clearcase/ClearQuest, Buildforge
• Graphical Interface (GUI) coding for CBT and WBT
• Experience in client requirement analysis for technical design
• Experience designing and using templates
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team oriented, professional office environment
• Ability to interface with internal customers to determine software requirements
• Excellent communication skills, (written, and verbal)
• Strong attention to details, highly organized and motivated
• Knowledge of the rail/transportation industry and terminology preferred
• BSCS, BSEE Degree (transcripts required)
