Detailed Job Description:

  • Work closely with the application SMEs and other stakeholders from client team to gather migration requirements, understand current application landscape/architecture and present recommendations for target disposition
  • Preparing migration solution and architectural documentation that will be reviewed and approved by peers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with project manager to arrive at release plan.
  • Provide guidance to project team in various activities like application assessment, code remediation, build & deploy, testing and production release.
  • Highlight blockers or dependencies to the project managers and other stakeholders and ensure that any changes to requirements impacting the solution architecture are called out immediately.
  • Provide updates on project activities and status to project managers and other relevant stakeholders
  • Cloud strategy and suitability assessment and definition

Primary skills (Please mention only 5 must and mandatory skills required):

  • At least 5 years of experience in application migration and technology upgrade projects.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in Windows/Linux/Unix operating system along with Java/C++/.Net based application development/maintenance.
  • At least 3-4 years’ hands-on experience in architecting and deploying solutions in Azure
  • Sound understanding plus hands on experience of applicable build/deployment tools. Should be able to help team in fixing build/deployment issues.
  • Sound debugging skills in Java, C++ or .Net environment. Should be able to provide guidance to team in fixing complex issues.
  • At least 4 years of experience in release planning and project execution with adherence to strict timelines.

Secondary skills (Please mention skill nice to have):

  • Experience in scripting languages (PowerShell, Shell, Pearl) is desirable.
  • Experience in any of the industry standard tools for Job Scheduling (AutoSys), ETL (PowerCenter) would be an advantage
  • Understanding and experience on handling of servers like IIS, Tomcat, Apache
  • Understand Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle process.
  • Understanding of container technology and container orchestration platforms
  • Experience in Project life cycle activities on development and maintenance projects.
