Application Support - DB dev/Java-based app dev

 

Need to have strong DB develement skills along with a fair amount of Java-based application develement.

This role is to support a new Engineering & Construction management system being brought online and assist with the E & C reporting solution being built on a SharePoint/Business Objects platform. The job encompasses multiple steps of the software development lifecycle for several new applications created to support the engineering and construction business. 

Role:

·         Creating, modifying, and integrating functional applications from interpretation of business requirements.

·         Application support and customization of these applications and other proprietary software in a multi-layer (Browser, Business Logic, Application & Database) web based environment. 
Translate business requests and implement necessary application and web changes. 

·         Translate business requirements into necessary database changes for use with third-party reporting tools.
Design and create database views.

Qualifications:
Application support skills with strong business analysis skills are an integral function of this role We need someone who is a hands-on technician with strong web development and SQL skills to support GIS PostgresSQL, SQL Server, Sybase and Oracle database development and integration initiatives. Database/application integration experience is essential. 

 

Technical skills should include most (or all) of the following:

Programming: J2EE, Coldfusion 10, Apache Tomcat, Java required
API: SOAP, JSON, GeoJSON/XML
Browser: Sencha, Openlayers, HTML & JQuery
Database: MS SQL Server 2008, PostgresSQL, PostGIS 2.0, Oracle & Sybase
Advanced SQL scripting, utilization and modification, as well as creation of complex data queries with error handling.
Prefer experience with web-based reporting tools (ideally Crystal Reports, Business Objects or MS Excel).

Knowledge of Sharepoint is strongly preferred.
