Project Managers are required to be qualified under the Commonwealth of Virginia Qualification Standards for IT Project Managers. http://www.vita.virginia.gov/oversight/projects/default.aspx?id=589

 

Oversee and manage application maintenance and implementation services for the Divisions of Real Estate Services, Division of Engineering & Buildings, and agency administration services (human resource, fiscal, information systems, purchasing, surplus, and fleet).   Oversee agency web site and SharePoint Application Development. Excellent verbal and oral communications. Knowledge of financial (preferably PeopleSoft), and purchasing systems helpful. Knowledge of Real Estate, Facilities Management, and Permit processing helpful.

 

Experience with programming, systems analysis and design, business process analysis, and project management processes. Ability to design and document logical data structures and data flows. Considerable experience leading projects of moderate complexity. Well organized and the ability to organize others to accomplish goals within prescribed timeframes. Project Management Certification by PMI. Develop recommendations and plans to maintain supported applications at release levels that insure a reliable technical infrastructure.  Identify functionality changes in release levels and advise customers on the impact of these changes. Provide Project Management for all technology initiatives of supported divisions.  To include regular status reports, project plan updates, and required project documentation. Estimate work and timelines within 25 percent of actual work and delivery dates. Document changes in scope or other problems that affect work and timelines.  Keep customers informed of work estimates and changes. Develop and maintain project implementation and configuration management guidelines and procedures. Comply with VITA project reporting standard. Communicates with CIO/Director on all pertinent tasks and issues. Act as project manager or technical lead for assigned IT projects.  Monitor project schedule and task completion, mentor staff, and coordinate with business stakeholders to meet agreed to project schedules, budget, and technical requirements.
