Job Description:

The enterprise data warehouse (EDW) program is in search of a senior Cognos Analyst/Report Developer to further enhance the project team’s Cognos development expertise and capabilities.

Required Skills:

Business Intelligence (BI) - Business Analyst skillset

Guides and directs BI/Analytics requirements elicitation

Facilitates collaborative definition, design and refinement of BI/Analytics deliverables through an iterative process

Guides and supports data analysis and profiling activities             

Senior-Expert Cognos Product Consulting

Possesses deep product suite subject matter expertise (including Report Studio, Query Studio, and Business Insight)

Guides business partner and project team on application of appropriate BI/Analytics tools (dashboards, data visualization,…) Senior-Expert   

Report Development – Cognos

Deep SQL knowledge to facilitate data analysis & profiling, formulation of queries, and validation of report results

Analyzes complex requirements and formulates design options and recommendations in adherence with strategic BI/Analytic roadmaps

Applies appropriate Cognos tools and features to meet BI/Analytics requirements; ensuring ease of use; high performance and maintainability

o             Business Insight

Possesses working knowledge of Framework Manager and  provides input into the Cognos framework architecture

Facilitates integration of Cognos with other products/solutions

Applies appropriate testing to verify solutions meet functional & non-functional requirements Senior-Expert   

Desired Skills:

Development expertise with other BI/Analytics toolsets such as Hyperion (Interactive Reporting (IR) & Essbase), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
