Develop and implement interace programs for the EHRS System

 

This position is located in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  The position reports to Project Manager of the implementation team.  Responsibilities include either working on the clinical implementation team and the ancillary systems (pharmacy, lab, EKG, pharmacy, dietary (CBORD)) interface team.  The position requires previous experience in EHR implementations and the interfacing of ancillary systems to an EHR. 

Purpose of Position:

•                The EHRS Ancillary Interface Analyst (labs, pharmacy, EKG, dietary, radiology) will co-ordinate external interfaces to the Electronic Health Record System (EHRS) system.  Additionally, the analyst will assist EHRS MU/Clinical Implementation Analyst in design, build and training of the EHRS.

 

 Duties and Responsibilities:

The EHRS Ancillary Interface Analyst (labs, pharmacy, dietary (CBORD), radiology)

•                Is the primary point of contact between the Siemens and lab, pharmacy, dietary, EKG and radiology vendors.

•                Works with Siemens and Ancillary vendors to establish implementation timelines.

•                Responsible for setting and conducting teleconference meetings between Ancillary vendors interface team and Siemens.

•                Reports the status of Ancillary interface development to Siemens and DBHDS Project Manager.

•                Assists EHRS MU/Clinical Implementation Analyst in design, build and training of the EHRS.

 

 Statewide overnight travel will be required.  COV travel regulations must be followed and DBHDS Travel reimbursement forms will be completed and submitted to recover cost.  Personal vehical will be required..

-Required:

The EHRS Ancillary Interface Analyst (labs, pharmacy, dietary, EKG, radiology)

1.              Experience in the development of interfaces for laboratory, pharmacy, radiology and or other ancillary clinical systems

2.              5-7 years EHR design, build, testing and training for a hospital system.

3.              Must be able to conduct “Train the Trainer” training for either clinical personnel.

4.              Experience in developing technical design/specifications, course material for clinical training

5.              The ability to learn IBM Blue Works Live work flow documentation.

6.              Experience in Crystal Report writing or the ability to learn in a compressed time frame.

Desired:

The EHRS Ancillary Interface Analyst (labs, pharmacy, dietary, EKG, radiology).

1.              Experience with LabCorp interfaces.

2.              Experience with QS1, WinPharm or GE Centricity pharmacy systems.

3.              Experience with CBORD dietary.

4.              Experience interfacing EKG systems.

5.                  Clinical and or nursing experience helpful

 

 

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, computer information systems, or management information systems is generally preferred. Knowledge of the limitations and capabilities of computer systems and of the techniques used in the design of non-automated systems, of information technology equipment, of applicable programming languages, of computer hardware and software, of computer operating systems, of writing program code, and of automated mapping. Ability to analyze

systems and procedures, to write and revise standards and procedures, to communicate effectively, and to train others.
