Detailed Job Description:

  • 5+ years of hands-on data modeling and architecture experience in an agile-driven SDLC
  • 3+ years analysis and/or modeling in business models focused on Supply Chain, Inventory and Manufacturing
  • 3+ years using a dedicated data modeling tool such as Erwin, Data Architect or Hackolade
  • 1+ years developing models for non-traditional data platforms (DynamoDB, JSON, OpenAPI, Snowflake, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Proven track record of being self-directed, results orientated with demonstrated ability to achieve aggressive goals despite ambiguity and multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and business-facing
  • Ability to define solution options, provide estimates on effort and risk, and evaluate technical feasibility
  • Experience with Agile: Scrum, Kanban, etc.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long - term solutions.
  • Work with the Application Development team to implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models.
  • Create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy.
  • Develop scalable designs that capture potential variations in business models
  • Maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata.
  • Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models.
  • Develop data models that serve both normalized/transactional, as well as denormalized/analytic solutions
  • Lead data definition and term alignment work with business partners Recommend opportunities for reuse of data models in new environments.
  • Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts.
  • Evaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies.
  • Validate and test data models using sample business data and use cases to assess requirement compliance.
  • Develop data models according to company standards.
