Big Data Onshore Lead with Java development experience

Need a strong hands on technical resource in Big Data technologies, that has experience with implementing a Big Data system in a live production environment and strong Java development recent experience with hands on Java coding.  

Responsibilities: 

Work with Equinix SMEs and different GSE teams (MW, Enterprise Systems etc..) to understand data integration requirements, their needs from Platform and work with them to roll-out capabilities for the platform.
Understand Roadmap and collaborate with different project Teams, Business Analysts, PMs and other key supporting teams to estimate and plan work.
Maintain project plan and be responsible for all project deliverables from DEV, QA, build and other teams.
Technically lead engineers and work with quality assurance lead/engineers in a distributed development team environment for deliverables.
Report critical issues to management effectively, timely and with clarity; Report to management about plan, progress and status in effective and timely manner.
Hands-on system design and development, as needed.
Participate in the governance process of SDLC,  product roadmap and execution plan as a contributing member representing development team.
Evaluate technology components and make recommendations, participate in the Brain Storming sessions to roll-out governance model for Big Data Platform.

Qualifications & experience:

Expert level Java Developer that has led development team for Java/J2EE projects for at least 2 years.
Must have deep knowledge of OO concepts & experience with UML modeling and data modeling.
Must have experience in building and maintaining large scale systems with capabilities of high availability and high scalability(e.g. e-commerce systems, retail systems, search etc..)
Must have a deep understanding of SDLC methodologies (including Agile) and experience with all phases of SDLC with solid experience in architecting and developing large-scale applications.
Must have strong estimating and planning skills and must have ability to effectively communicate across teams and roles.
Must have ability and desire to work and thrive in a fast-paced team environment with minimal supervision and demonstrable ability to deliver projects on time, with high quality.
