Description: Our client, a government agency is looking for a Database Administrator.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, upgrade, patch the database;
• Setup, automate, document and troubleshoot the Streams Replication at schema level and table level to capture, propagate and apply the DML, DDL changes to the replicated database;
• Automate error checking, document and troubleshoot and resolve problems in Oracle streams;
• Monitor and manage Production and Development databases and also monitor instances locks, long running queries, listener, free space, extents growth and space management etc;
• Clone databases;
• Monitor and manage Production and Development databases and also monitor instances locks, long running queries, listener, free space, extents growth and space management etc;
• Troubleshoot database issues/error;
• Maintain database 24x7;
• Backup and recovery strategy and insure recoverability of Oracle databases;
• Use DATA PUMP/export import to instantiate SCN to avoid conflict at destination;
• Administering and enforcing database and user security policies and standards including privacy regulations;
• Scheduling jobs and Automating tasks.
Requirements:
• Experience with building and automating scripts in a UNIX environment for streams on Oracle 11g at a table level and schema level;
• Experience with SQL and PL/SQL, UNIX shell scripting;
• Experience with Automatic Workload Repository (AWR), Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor (ADDM), Active Session History (ASH);
• Experience with Tuning - SGA, Monitoring and Detecting Locks;
• Experience with using Data Pump, export, import;
• Experience with deploying and managing fault-tolerance and high-availability and DR (Disaster Recovery) solutions including Oracle Streams and others;
• Experience with IBM/AIX platforms. (Preferred)
