Short Description:

 

Desktop Support Technician: Part time position (21 Hours/week) - any three days but must be consistent. 

Successful placement may be provided career path to full time employment.

Valid Drivers License Required

 

Complete Description:

Years of Experience: 2 or more years field experience

Education: 2 year college degree or equivalent technical study

 

•Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Be able to patiently communicate with non-technical employees in a fashion easily understood.

•Provide Level II, phone/desk side technical support & problem management to end users on a wide array of issues regarding computer operations, including installations, setups, error messages, and application use.

•Experience troubleshooting hardware issues, desktops, printers, LAN equipment

•Working with vendors to resolve applications issues

•Strong documentation skills and ability to follow IT procedures. Must provide detailed information in ticket resolution software.

•In depth technical knowledge of Microsoft operating systems including Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows Server in an active directory domain environment

•Knowledge of basic networking fundamentals and protocols (DHCP, DNS, HTTP, basic switching).

•Experience supporting and configuring Microsoft Office

•New computer setup, profile configuration, image management (Desktop Cloning), and data transfer

•Ability to gain feedback from users to proactively resolve recurring problems and follow up with users on all issues

•Ability to take on new tasks and learn new technologies in a fast-paced work environment

•Loading and delivering equipment (Ability to lift 30 lbs)

•Respond to queries either in person or over the phone.

 

THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:

•CompTIA A+ and/or Microsoft Certifications

•Experience VoIP phone systems (Avaya Products Utilized)

•Familiarity with System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)

•Experience with supporting mobile devices (Phones/Tablets)
