This resource will be primarily responsible for installing, supporting and maintaining servers or other computer systems, and planning for and responding to service outages and other problems. In addition, this resource will provide maintenance of the data storage environment with particular emphasis on NAS devices and storage connectivity and perform periodic scripting/programming of their particular system, throughout the life of the project. Duties include providing hands-on analysis of issues, issue reporting, and incident management. This resource will provide in-depth insight into performance management issues, and assist with the correction.

Citizenship Requirement:

Candidates MUST be either a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the U.S. (for at least three years) and be willing to undergo an IRS Minimum Background Investigation.

 

 

Please note the proposed Candidates MUST meet the following Required Technical Skills for consideration in filling the position:

 

Required Technical Skills:

•     Minimum 2 years work experience with enterprise level disk storage systems.

•     Data backup and recovery systems knowledge.

•     EMC VNX and/or NetApp Filer administration and support experience.

•     Experience with NetApp storage equipment a plus.

•     Experience with Intel grade platforms certified for Solaris.

•     Knowledge and experience with command line navigation.

•     Understanding of Log files maintenance.

•     Knowledge of file-based protocols such as NFS, CIFS, FTP, TFTP, and HTTP to support network storage.

•     Experience in the building and design of storage arrays.

•     Fabric-Attached Storage (FAS).

o  Network Attached Storage (NAS).

o  Experience with Data ONTAP operating system to configure and align multiple filers to run in “cluster mode”.

•     Experience with and understanding of the use of change management and incident management tools.

•     Proven ability to work independently and as a team member.

•     Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.

•     Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities:

•     Provide installation and maintenance of systems controlling software over the life of the project, including NetApp storage devices.

•     Identify, Report, and Correct system issues.

•     Form aggregate flexible volumes to store user accessible data.

•     Provide input on block-based protocols such as Fibre Channel (FC), Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) and iSCSI.

•     Provide input on file-based protocols such as NFS, CIFS, FTP, TFTP, and HTTP to support network storage.

•     Provide input on boot procedures to optimize high and low level storage functions.
