This person will assist the Department of Veterans Services with the design, integration, management, and support of our website(s).  This position will serve to facilitate communication and coordination of website support services for DVS .  Will independently provide administration and technical support for the DVS website and other related systems.  Will receive guidance and direction from the DVS Communications Director to capture technical and non-technical requirements to facilitate creating a set of comprehensive and effective plans and actions for developing and maintaining a high quality website. 


Website KSAs:


•             Perform maintenance and updates to the website(s) as requested by the DVS Communications Director

•             Ensure that the layout of the content is accessible and logical; recommend improvements if necessary

•             Create and provide support documentation and training on maintenance and update procedures

•             Manages day-to-day operational aspects for managing the website(s) and communicate with external vendor and entities as required

•             Create design prototypes, including graphic design, site navigation, and layout of content, for the DVS web site

•             Data entry of information for supporting the DVS website and related DVS systems


Website Design and Administration


•             3-7  Years experience with website design and administration; degree in field preferable

•             Good knowledge of XHTML, CSS, and use of digital imaging and illustration with Adobe Photoshop, QuarkXPress, and Illustrator

•             Knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, PHP and dynamic HTML; experience with Macromedia Flash.

•             Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (IE, Firefox, Safari, etc.)

•             Good experience working on PC and Mac platforms

•             Good knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques, with a strong portfolio displaying user-centered design and experience with web database solutions.

•             Very good spoken and written English, in order to design prototypes and train staff and other affiliated personnel

•             Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and ale to perform repetitive motion to include standing, sitting, reaching, lifting, walking, bending, and climbing.
