Typical Duties:  

  • Configure and integrate new and existing network devices based upon client requirements
  • Implement network designs based upon design documents on time and within budget
  • Design and implement network solutions according to client requirements on time and within budget
  • Create work instructions and standard operating procedures based upon network implementation and design
  • Create and maintain network diagrams and documents
  • Create documentation for network implementation
  • Assist architects with design solutions and review and validate designs of network systems
  • Assist Operations with troubleshooting and root cause analysis for network incidents in the environments
  • Drive problem resolutions to ensure business continuity and determine root cause analysis for all network problems
  • Improve quality and ensure consistent and timely resolution of incidents and implement necessary steps to prevent future incidents
  • Audit network devices to confirm network policies and guidelines meet or exceed targets for successfully audits  

Required Skills and/or Product Knowledge:

·         Experience with F5 LTMs and GTMs

 

                   and/or

 

·         Experience upgrading and installing firewalls (Checkpoint, Juniper, and/or Cisco ASA)

The following skills and experience are preferred: 

 

·         Experience with Cisco IOS/NX-OS switches and routers

 

·         Experience maintaining Cisco ASA devices for site-to-site and remote VPNs

 

·         Experience with network security tasks such as ACLs, firewall policies, VPN tunnels

 

·         Experience with redundancy

 

·         TCP/IP network protocols, static and dynamic routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP and OSPF

 

·         Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of network problems such as routing/switching/firewalls and VPN tunnels

 

·         Experience with TCPDUMP, Snoop, Sniffer, and other network troubleshooting tools

 

·         Experience developing, documenting, and implementing network project plans

 

·         Follow-up and attention to detail with great customer service skills

 

·         Display a professional, responsible attitude and work independently

 

·         Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a high pressured environment

 

·         Work with remote, matrixed teams

 

·         Experience developing and maintaining processes, procedures and documentation (processes, user guides, etc.)

 

General requirements include extensive use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; superior verbal and written communications; attention to detail; and organizational skills.  Prefer someone with an IT degree and experience in an ITIL environment.

Travel requirements:  Travel requirements to client locations are estimated at 5%.
