Job Title:

Clinical Business Analyst




11+ months (Possible Extension)



ü  Strong communication skills, verbal and written

ü  Experience working with Clinical R&D, Medical Affairs or Early Research & Development business units and systems

ü  Strong, positive presence with customers and senior management

ü  Strong relationship with development team and vendors

ü  4 year degree, graduate degree a plus

ü  Knowledge of clinical systems and data


Business Analyst responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

ü  Identify, track, and maintain an inventory of business needs to be defined in detail for application systems

ü  Elicit, analyze, document, and validate detailed business and user requirements; identify gaps between system capabilities and business requirements; and map capabilities to requirements to ensure that business needs are met

ü  Develop business area process models, activity diagrams and use cases

ü  Own and author User Requirements Document

ü  Create logical level data models

ü  May assist with Business Requirements Document Assess solution alternatives

ü  Lead the translation of business and user requirements into test conditions and expected results for user acceptance testing (UAT)

ü  Develop and manage data to be utilized for UAT test cases

ü  Maintain and update documentation (and SOP documents) as changes in systems and business processes occur

ü  Work with customers to establish and maintain business priorities for system solutions

ü  Assist with the development and execution of change management and training throughout the organization during the Implementation of system solutions

ü  Understand project management and contribute to defining work plans and keeping track of progress

ü  Assist with development and delivery of solution training

Skills/Knowledge Requirements:

ü  6+ years experience as a Business Analyst with requirements elicitation, documentation, testing, training

ü  Requirements documentation tools such as BluePrint Requirements Center a plus

ü  Exposure to visualization software such as iRise a plus

ü  Pharmaceutical, Bio-Technology, Life Science industry experience

ü  Project experience with COTS and Web-based requirements, design, or development Functional Knowledge includes the following:

ü   Awareness of Business and Enterprise Architecture

ü  Regulatory Compliance and Validation

ü  Strong Customer and Business Relationships

ü  Systems Development Life Cycle (Analysis through Implementation)

ü  Business Analysis, Requirements Definition and Management

ü  User Acceptance Testing
