Job Description

The Norfolk Southern Information Technology Geographic Information Systems team (ITGIS) is seeking a candidate who is an experienced GIS analyst.  The candidate should be highly motivated and a self-starter who has demonstrated successful experience architecting, implementing and supporting enterprise mapping solutions.  The candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills, and should be team oriented, self-motivated and detail-oriented.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

§  Work with Business Partners and other IT development groups to define and formalize requests for new maps or services

§  Assist in architecting solutions when requests for new maps or services fall outside of current footprint

§  Support small development efforts following the Software Development Life Cycle

§  Design, construct and implement new mapping solutions

§  Support existing and new map data and services 

Required Experience and Skills

5+ years support of Enterprise GIS applications using:

§  Esri ArcGIS Desktop

§  Esri ArcGIS Server and SDE Administration (10.x)

Preferred Experience and Skills

§  Python

§  C#
