Minimum experience and education: Candidates with a BS degree must have the minimum of 11 years or 132 months of work experience specific to the job description.
If a candidate has a Master’s degree, they still need a minimum of 11 years or 132 monthsof work experience but only nine years or 108 months of experience specific to the job. The other work experience to meet the 132 months does not have to be IT related.
Work experience while in college can be counted toward the overall years.
If no degree, work experience may be substituted.
Background clearance: All candidates selected will have to go through a Federal government background check prior to being able to start. Generally, the background process takes between 3,4 or 5 weeks. The time is dependent on how quickly the candidate is able to complete the paperwork.
Candidates will obtain a Public Trust clearance upon approval.
Position Description:
Need a Senior Mainframe Developer who provides COBOL and JCL development to support legacy Mainframe DB2 applications running on Z/OS. The resource will be responsible for development conforming to customer standards and requirements and will be involved in the unit testing and validation against desired outcomes. The resource is expected to function as part of a team which includes customers and must demonstrate sufficient communication skills to ensure success. The successful candidate will provide support in requirements/design/coding/testing/validation efforts for the customer Social Security Administration (SSA).
Skills Requirements:
11+ years of strong COBOL development and maintenance experience.
-11+ years coding OS/JCL job streams.
-8+ year of DB2 experience.
-7+ years of strong CICS development and maintenance experience.
-7+ years of VSAM experience.
-Experience with Endevor, DB2 utilities, FileAid and Xpediter.
-Candidate should possess extensive experience with analyzing and documentation of detailed requirements, development of use cases, high level and low level design, and be capable of producing related documentation.
-Candidate must possess the experience and ability to work effectively independently without technical oversight and to collaborate effectively within and across teams.
