- Creatively solved the DE resource constraint problem by collaborating with our sister account’s (Colorado DDI) EDI team pooling both projects EDI resources to build one common collaborative solution to be utilized across all interChange accounts within Confidential allowing EDI resources to be leveraged across multiple accounts.
- Created detailed cross walk documents with interChange subsystems to create and validate to ensure integration of EDI X12 and NCPPD data into and out of interchange’s Finance, Prior Authorization, Eligibility and Claims subsystems to assure implementation success.
- During end of the design phase and into the Development phase the new Confidential ’s EDI translator’s proof of concept EDI translator was failing requiring significant redesign of the leveraged solution.
- Initially the prototype solution consisted of web service calls to the translator with the EDI data as the payload. This initial design failed during volume testing since it was designed to connect to the translator, deliver the payload and wait for the translation. The new translator took considerably more time for translations, sometimes over 4 hours and the Confidential network’s firewalls typically defaulted in closing the connection after 5 minutes of inactivity.
- Innovatively solved this on the combined DE and CO account teams by moving to a SFTP type solution for file exchanges. We quickly regrouped and simplifying the solution to use file moving utilities to send and receive the payloads (XML files) while salvaging the original EDI code removing the webservice as the communication component to process batch files. This was done while still meeting all project deadlines.
- Realtime translations continued to be performed by receiving the X12 or NCPDP via dedicated VPN connection or ACA 1104 CAQHI CORE Web Services and utilizing web services to interactive with OXi in Realtime and a UNIX C SOAP server for the claims and eligibility engines - Exceeded Service Level Agreement of 7 second response.
