Sr. Data Scientist
Responsibilities:
- Identifying, collecting and aggregating data of high quality that address well-formed business questions. Aggregated data combines transaction database (OLTP), Hadoop data from big data portal (HDFS big data), clickstream (big data), sensor and log data (big data), process data from ServiceNow and machine generated server property data.
- Providing end-to-end visibility operational monitor alerts. Operational metrics (KPIs) are defined based on user-specified error rate values and statistical and adaptive thresholding methods. Alerts are dispatched thereby enabling critical system caretaker to initiate corrective action proactively.
- Facilitating proactive production stance by developing end-to-end health pattern tool for Dialer/IVR availability. The tool visually reveals hidden patterns such as big spikes, big drops, system class action wiggles, displaying activity trends across the entire platform without having to dig through several logs on several servers and routers.
- Improving effectiveness of internal process. An analytic repeatability framework is created and deployed in immediate leadership organization to facilitate process repeatability of analytics processes.
- Improving availability of critical infrastructure. An outage predictor tool is built for to predict probable outage and possible causes, utilizing machine learning methods.
- Informing new product development. A world map performance dashboard for an end-to-end visibility of inventory management is built. Senior leadership shows this dashboard on wider screens in receptions. The predictive component predicts demands based on ordering strategies, thereby facilitating the implementation of risk pooling strategies. Managers are able to intuitively and visually correlate performance by product categories by geographical locations and demographics in one piece, opportunities for introduction of new product development are quickly spotted and exploited.
- Prioritizing and evaluating products. Using baselining and A/B testing, baseline patterns are captured across Dialer/IVR platform and are compared regularly with current pattern to detect anomaly, misconfiguration, compromise, under-utilization, and over-utilization. Other variant of this deliverable that I have delivered include: testing whether a website feature-set choice drives more revenue than the other, validating whether to build or not to build product using simple math, and A/B Testing whether a recommended action results in a significant change effect in customer conversion and behavior that affects revenue generation.
