Development Manager
Confidential
Responsibilities:
- Designed and developed an automated document ( Confidential ) tracking system.
- Designed SQL database structure, stored procedures, and maintenance Plans
- Developed extract layouts to feed database
- Wrote applications to import data using ADODB and disconnected datasets
- Designed an ASP.NET interface using Ajax controls.. later redesigned using DevExpress controls
- Created the stored procedures and views to drive the web pages data
- Setup the website in IIS
- Developed Windows program for scanning stations for using Bluetooth scanners
- Designed and developed automated reprint solutions for (AFP, PDF, and PCL) print files. Wrote VB.NET applications to extract individual documents.
- Designed and developed a check processing system using camera systems across multiple sites to process item level (pieces within a mail piece) tracking. This ASP.NET interface interacts with equipment in 3 different states based on user input. Accessing the machines was achieved by using domain service accounts and local service accounts with the same name and isolating the page in a directory and using a web.config file for identity impersonation. This project required strict audit controls in order to never allow a duplicate check. This process has been running for 4 years processing approximately 5 million checks a month without a duplicate check.
- Designed and developed an automated PDF document processing system using .NET and Itext to eliminate physical stock and add production controls. This project reduced the cost of storing letterhead, custom stock and automated the work for several departments across the company saving millions of dollars over several years.
- Designed and developed an insert scheduler system that uses the DevExpress calendar control to allow users to schedule inserts. During composition based on the date the system can discern which inserts to include in the document. This eliminates human error.
- Designed and developed a time tracking system. The system combined time entered by developers for professional services and data charges for mail pieces processed to provide customers with one invoice.
- Created SharePoint screens which enables users to suppress mail pieces. Wrote a stored procedure to create an extract file of these mail pieces. The extract file is used during composition to suppress mail pieces.
- Designed credit bureau reports for a major US credit bureau with XML input using Confidential Exstream. These credit reports displayed transactions from the 3 major credit bureaus. The documents consist of static pages and flowing sectional tables.
- Designed a system to process records from the USPS confirm system.
- Created a VB.NET application to download files from the USPS system to match and update records in the database for customer reporting.
- Developed a system using lookup files to dynamic place quality controls on statements using Pitney Bowe’s Output Enhancement product. This design permits the flexibility to move quality controls for banks based on their statement design. The system enabled developers with no print mail experience to add quality controls to bank statements. This system is being utilized to automate hundreds of banks.
Senior Print Systems Architect
Confidential
Responsibilities:
- Designed insurance policies (Life, Auto and Combined) for a large US insurance company using Documerge.
- I used COBOL to create business rules to compose the documents and MS Word to create the documents and load them into the Electronic Document Library ( Confidential ).
- Designed benefit enrollment and explanation of benefits packages for several major US healthcare companies. I developed these projects using Confidential Exstream or COBOL and DocScience’s Compuset. These project required logic for each state to include the correct legal documents as required by each state’s Insurance board. Documents consisted of conditional messages and pages, flowing benefits tables and static documents.
- Designed quarterly financial statements for a major financial institution. This project used CSF, JCL and StreamWeaver to add controls to AFP input and create convenience splits for inserting equipment. In addition to statements this project produced approximately 1500 agent CDs each quarter. To accomplish this statements were sorted by agent code and a hex value was inserted at the beginning of each agent. In another pass of StreamWeaver we used this hex value as the top of document to split the CDs.
- Designed a time tracking system using MS Access to track developer time and ensure accurate billing. The system creates extract files to be imported into the accounting system.
- Designed an insurance rate database for a major US healthcare company using MS Access that allowed their employees to enter codes to relate several rates to a code. These codes are then utilized to print rates tables in benefits packages.
- Designed a letter system for a healthcare payment company using Confidential Exstream. This system used two passes of Dialogue for householding of letters mailed to the same agency. This project had state based logic for messages.
- Designed a vendor management system using MS Access to allow the shipping and receiving department to track vendor performance and quality. This system was used to award vendor contracts.
- Designed a COBOL program that used a parameter file to manage insert attributes for manifesting mail. This project was used across all divisions of the company. Reducing the risk of recalled mailings or fines by the USPS.
