Confidential is a professional online platform for high school athletes to be discovered by recruiting coaches from national colleges and universities. The platform is designed to help both coaches and players navigate the subtle rules governing their communications during the high - school athlete recruiting process. Confidential enables athletes from all backgrounds to be fairly recruited, without having to buy into the pay-for-play system that exists today.
Confidential was built using React 16 and ECMAScript 2015 (ES6). The server was built using ASP.NET Web API 2 on .NET Framework 4.6. WebSockets using SignalR were used to publish real-time updates to browser clients. Third-party authentication via Google was integrated using OAuth 2. SQL Server 2016 was used for data storage, including the new JSON reading and writing functionality.
Designed and implemented the site-wide user connections feature as a reusable React component that allows users to follow, like, and connect with each other. Implemented AJAX call multiplexing so that status-indicator components that were mounted during the same event loop cycle will combine their requests into a single AJAX call. This increased the site's performance and decreased latency on large web pages.
