  • The Confidential for Americatel allowed customers to login and manage their services, which was primarily PIN-less calling cards and long distance. Users could make payments, view bills online, payment history, usage, and perform a number of self-service tasks such as changing their PIN, adding/removing features, etc.
  • The site was designed to be brand agnostic so that it could be used for their Startec and Americatel brands that targeted English and Spanish customers respectively. We designed a Content Manager to allow them to skin and load content dynamically based on the active brand. This was achieved by utilizing the Unity Framework to inject the content at runtime. Unity was also utilized to provide a separation of concerns between each tier of the application (i.e. view, controller, business, and data).
  • The application utilized JQuery for client-side scripting, AJAX to enhance the user experience, xVal for client and server side validation, and the MvcContrib Grid .
  • This application now services over 50,000 users daily and requires minimal technical support. Many of this system's modules have continued to be leveraged on other projects due to their performance and re-use potential. The site was built on C#, ASP.NET MVC 1.0 (later moved to MVC 2.0 ) , WCF 3.5, Unity, and JQuery .
