- I was the only developer in a 200+ employee company. I performed bug-fixes and enhancements for Gruber’s business-critical SBT Pro-series accounting system and for the TeleMagic with HotButtons Contact Management software. These systems manage the core of Gruber’s business.
- I worked closely with the company owner and reported directly to the CFO. I have been responsible for hundreds of critical software bug-fixes and enhancements. I was instrumental in the selection and implementation of a company-wide, Web-based bug-tracking and reporting system (OTRS).
- I was the key player in a small team of IT people who, successfully migrated both the SBT accounting software and the TeleMagic CMS software to a Windows Terminal Services environment, yielding a net 3-to-4 times increase in the effective speed of both applications, resulting in effective time savings of 1.5 hours per user per day for the 150+ users.
- I have implemented many, many new features in both software packages, including SMTP-based email for TeleMagic. I completed a massive programmatic “bulk-load” of over 20,000 .JPG images into the SBT accounting software so that there are photographs depicting the product inventory.
- I was instrumental in converting the TeleMagic CMS from Visual FoxPro 6 to run under Visual FoxPro 9, providing extensive error-handling enhancements.
- I also completely re-worked Gruber’s “SmartQuote” software, which is an expert system that permits inexperienced users to generate complex sales quotes to customers for Uninterruptible Power Supply systems, for the batteries used in the UPS systems, and for service contracts to maintain those systems.
- I wrote a series of programs that completely re-worked and updated the company’s Microsoft Outlook signatures for 49 Account Managers, programmatically producing 2,352 signature files for 48 different ready-made customer letter templates, permitting the Account Managers to save many hours each day in customer communications.
- I also created and implemented a series of programs used to automate the company’s Email Marketing effort, providing extensive new capabilities in that business area. I analyzed and programmed a completely new ability to process credit cards inside of the company’s accounting software, replacing an outdated system lacking critical features.
