Responsibilities:
- Designed and programmed a new graphical menu (GUI) system for the company’s character-based menu on its principal software application product. This menu was special in that it would present to the user in an appropriate size, depending on the workstation’s screen resolution. This helped restore confidence in Deneb’s client base that the company is upgrading its product for the market’s ever-changing hardware and operating systems.
- Learned COBOL programming on the job, applied knowledge through successful delivery of high-quality programs and documentation, and demonstrated mastery by taking COBOL programming at Sinclair Community College, receiving a grade of “A.”
- Took the initiative to offer to take a college course on C#.NET to support the current product development of a web based cloud product. I recently took the lead in designing an Equipment Control module for this product and have been coding in C# since August 2011.
