Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • As a senior software engineer I was responsible for a variety of systems and databases ranging in technology from Classic ASP, to PHP, to Java, to C# and VB.
  • Several applications were written using the Microsoft MVC Framework.
  • One notable MVC project was an application that allowed clients to display a rotating point of sale ads across various televisions within their dealerships.
  • Client websites were created and maintained using Wordpress and Silverstripe.
  • I was also responsible for creating an online magazine management system that allowed clients to create and maintain advertisement pages online which then translated into Adobe InDesign via a complex XML translation process.

Responsibilities:

  • I was directly responsible for a network of over 8500 computers across the country.
  • Six locations throughout the United States were direct reports to me along with 5 direct report desktop engineers.
  • Primary responsibilities included ensuring the smooth operation of each location, daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, as well as budget management for all locations.
  • As a software engineer I was tasked with automating various reports ranging from DHCP to computer management tasks.
  • All automating was done using C#.NET and ranged from console applications to various desktop applications.
  • In addition, I was tasked with writing an application that ensured all required software was installed on each computer when it was rebooted. If the required software was not found it would locate the installer package on a network share and install it before making it available for use.
