SharePoint Architect/Developer

Project: Paid Time & HR Management system.

This is a SharePoint based product that caters to variety of industries to manage their Paid Time off system fully integrated with HR and payroll. Users login using public facing sharepoint site. The site is hosted with multi-tenancy approach and all timer jobs run against each tenant even though same timer job is set to run at same time irrespective of tenant. One of the challenges in this project was to migrate from previous version of sharepoint that had extensively used ‘fabulous 40 templates’.

Responsibilities:

  • Setting up Sharepoint 2010. Technical planning, infrastructure,& architecture for SharePoint 2010 migration.
  • SharePoint 2010 migrations using the database attach upgrade. This had difficulties and fabulous 40 templates were also not migrating easily to 2010. Migrated part of site using object model
  • Rewrote site definitions, master pages and custom web parts to support SharePoint 2010 features.
  • Developed various custom workflows.
  • Custom development using Excel services object model for converting documents to various file formats.
  • Different content types, lists and Metadata columns were redesigned to be able to use enhanced SharePoint 2010 features.
