Lead Software Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Rewrote a system written in Visual Basic that generates thousands of Excel reports and emails them to the client sales force based on a roster of recipients. This system was rewritten in C# and proved to be faster and more flexible than the previous system. It is a library of wrapping Excel function calls to create the reports which are used by a Windows Service written in C# to generate reports in Excel and PDF formats. In addition, back end functions including PDF grouping and zipping multiple reports together based on client roster information and PDF file creation enabled flexibility for delivery and file types.
- Developed the first phase of a web-based application (C#, ASP, ASP .Net, SQL Server, and Oracle) that allows clients to validate a doctor’s eligibility to receive sample drugs.
- Developed a Windows based Service that delivers Excel reports via email to client’s sales forces. I also wrote several utilities for the support group for managing/producing these reports. The first utility replaced a very generic loader application, which was allowing roster errors corrupt the loads. Using .Net, I was able to create a utility that removed the possibility for errors to occur.
- Developed a utility that printed each Excel report to PDF, automating a very time consuming process that had to be managed by the support staff. This utility allowed the job to be automatically started and eliminated the need for manual intervention and numerous lost hours producing these PDF files.
- Developed a Windows based service in C# to automatically backup mainframe input files and the resulting reports that were delivered to clients. This automated a time consuming manual process that was many times missed by the support personnel. This ensured that the service level agreements were always adhered to.
- Converted a web-based application from ColdFusion to ASP.
