Confidential

Responsibilities:

  • The current project being worked on is an email application for Walgreens. It’s a C# Web API with Angular 5 front end, using Aurora MySQL and database output caching which was maintained in AWS. I used Amazon Cloud Services such as Amazon Load Balancer, EC2, and RDS. I also added Varnish for reverse proxy.
  • A C# application called Premier Partner that lives inside Dollar General’s website which is basically a SharePoint server. It allows vendors to upload documents to our servers for DG vendors. It also allows an easier way to get media files to our designers instead of using an email server which doesn’t allow large attachments.
  • A C# application using Entity Framework and AKKA.NET to parse hundreds of records in an Excel file. AngularJS was used to fetch data from a WCF service to the front end. The data is stored in SQL Server 2012. I am currently re-writing it using REST and Angular 4 as replacements.
  • A C# application which takes the data from Prime and presents it on the front end for our account managers to process. AngularJS is used to fetch the data.

Confidential

Responsibilities:

  • A SharePoint application that allows vendors to share documents with each other over a secure portal. CAML, SQL Server 2012, and Workflows were the main components used in the SharePoint stack.
  • A SharePoint application used for legal documentation by C-Level personnel. CAML, SQL Server 2012, and Workflows were the main components used in the SharePoint stack.
  • This is a new application which helps improve shipping estimations from vessels coming overseas. It helps the distribution centers calculate their future workload coming in and out of the centers. I created a C# Windows Service that will publish XML to a TIBCO translator which is then sent to a third party company. I added an auditing system so we could tell if the transmissions were coming from inside or from third party.
  • This is a ten year old application written in Pascal created to handle security for MacysNet. Because MacysNet is internal as well as external, we needed a place to host our external customers. We also have to use our own type of security since we cannot host vendors in our Active Directory. I converted the Pascal code to .NET using C# with Web API’s.
  • Logportal is a smart client application written in VB.NET using an Oracle database with WCF Web Services. The application is a thick client which enabled the distribution centers to look up receipt ticket information. I was the senior developer responsible for the maintenance and enhancements of the application.
  • I mentored two developers going through the EDP program with Confidential ’s. I also taught several classes, teaching .NET and database introductory courses for the entire Logistics team. Logistics mainly consists of mainframe developers in the process of transitioning to modern technologies.
  • Recently, the business bought some tablets and wanted to test the waters with them, so I wrote some prototype applications for the distribution center. One application pulled receipt information depending on their search criteria. Another application I wrote took a scanned receipt bar code, processed it over the internet, and displayed the receipt information back to the client. The technologies I used were mainly JQuery, HTML5 with a backend .NET Web API.

Programmer/Analyst

Responsibilities:

  • Confidential is a Fortune 500 company which sells supplemental insurance. I worked on a team that developed in a program called Smart App, which was accepted into the Smithsonian Institution’s Permanent Research collection. This program allows associates to process an application from a laptop to the headquarters via modem instead of using paper. The advantage of this was that a policy can be rolled out in a day.
  • Created all the major functionality. This program was used by the Smart App support team. Penfront replaced the Lotus database with a SQL database. The program displayed different types of information, depending on which view the use requested.
  • A Visual C++ program. I edited the code so that policies coming in would go to different file paths, depending on certain criteria.
  • A program I created to help support find certain files in our directories. The files directories were too large, and finding a file would sometimes take support up to an hour to find.
  • A program I created to give the associates a credit for each new policy that was processed successfully.
  • This project monitored the majority of the programs supporting Smart App. It showed what programs were doing and most importantly if there were any errors. Monitor had a VB front end with a Visual C++ back end. I added a new feature that sent e-mail to a coordinator if an error occurred.
  • A program written in Borland C++ that would give insurance rates of our lines of business.
  • ICAAP was a state program designed to accelerate students into programmers in a six month period. Students would receive an A.S. in computer science with a guaranteed job after completion. I volunteered to tutor students for the ones who would be hired through Confidential .
  • Along with extra assignments, I’ve also been in charge of various types of “in-house” code. These are hybrid languages created by consultants outside of the company to suit Confidential ’s business needs. I also helped with the Y2K project. Fifteen programmers processed approximately six million lines of code in about 2 month’s time, checking for date problems and changing the code if necessary.
