Software Engineer

- Worked with Tomra North America as Software engineer. Maintaining and upgrading existing software written in C# (.Net 2.0) and SQL Server 2005. - Worked on conversion of project Quest from PowerBuilder to C# .NET 2.0. This project constitutes of two projects. - Warehouse weather control: To avoid oxidization of coils, temperature sensing and controlling is important. This is done in Win-forms and Windows service C# .NET programming and PLC communications via OPC.
- Automatic Shape Control: Completed in Win-forms C# .NET and Microsoft SQL Server 2000. This program reads from shape-meters and controls the crowns in the mill to give coil a better shape.
- Database Moving and Consolidation: Moved databases from Sybase 11.0 to Microsoft SQL server 2000 also merged two separate MS SQL server databases into one. After migration did necessary changes to Windows based applications and pointed them to right databases. Helped in VAX based applications to get proper DB connectivity.
- PowerBuilder to C# batch job Conversion: Designed and developed project in which, Batch jobs developed in PowerBuilder and Visual Basic 6.0 are integrated into windows service and Win-forms created in C# .NET.
- Shop Floor: Used as OLTP in Shop floor for all necessary tasks done for coil. It interacts between operators, machines and databases. This was developed on CITRIX (Thin Client), Power Builder (9.00), Borland C++ (5.0), Visual Basic (6.0 and embedded), OPC, Sybase 11 and Microsoft SQL Server.
- INTERNET: Web services for UA customers for online ordering and tracking. Project was developed under C# .NET, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Sybase 11.
- EDI (Electronic Data Interchange): Batch job for communications with clients and vendors. Uploading and downloading then encoding and decoding documents from and to ftp.KleintSchmidt.com site. Tools used were Power Builder (9.00), Borland C++ (5.0), Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase 11.
- SERVER CHECKER: This is a windows service located on monitor server to monitor if servers (machines), databases, OPC servers and data collection servers are running flawless. If not generate emails and cell phone text messages to the respective personnel. Developed in C# .NET
- PERIODICITY: Directly connected to mills to monitor FFT (Fast Fourier Transformations). OLTP part was created in Borland C++ and data transfer and OLAP part was created in Power Builder. Databases used were Sybase 11 and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Tow-Trucks and Handheld Units: Wireless touch screen PCS or Handheld devices record all material movements. Programs in multi-tiered architecture are created entire project was developed in Power Builder (9.00), Visual Basic (6.0 and embedded for windows CE handheld units), Sybase 11 and Microsoft SQL Server. COM objects were used for similar functionality
- INTEGRATION with E-time, Main Saver, Goldmine and Database: All distributed data was centralized and batch jobs were written to synchronize the data between different systems. These batch jobs also created data for OLAP purposes.
- Scrap: Entire system to handle the scrap. System starts from reading scales to shipping the scrap. Batch jobs print invoices. Developed in Power Builder (9.00), Borland C++ (5.0), Barcode fonts and Sybase 11.
- Data Dictionary: Metadata project for all depts. Including IT dept. using Power Builder (9) and Sybase 11
- United Aluminum (project name): OLAP tool with reports and some entry screens. Designed framework, created standards and let other users add reports. Developed in Power Builder (9.00), Borland C++ (5.0), Sybase 11 and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Corrective Actions: This program was created functionally similar to Harrington Groups CAR program but it is multi-user with enhanced reports this project is developed in Power Builder (7.00 and now in 9.0) and Sybase 11 but it was converted to Microsoft SQL server 2000 as RDBMS.
