Responsibilities:

  • Designed and developed the Java/J2EE ESB architecture of a large scale B2B order management system. The new system was built using a combination of Apache ServiceMix (including Apache Camel as well as other ESB components), Camel Spring and CXF web services. All components and web services were deployed to an OSGI Karaf container. The backend DBs included Oracle 11g, Microsoft SQL Server, DB2, MongoDB, and Apache Cassandra. Additional technologies utilized were Java DSL, JBoss, Apache Axis, SOAP, JSON, GSON, IBM’s Sterling Selling and Fulfillment Suite, and IBM’s Master Data Management application.
  • Developed a Vendor Rebates web application using Stripes, Hibernate, and Spring. Application utilized an Oracle 9i database and was deployed to JBoss.
  • Designed and developed a product maintenance application to allow users to maintain item, vendor, manufacturer, and distribution center information through a common web interface. The application was developed using Java, J2EE (including JMS, JDBC, JSPs), Struts framework, POI and JasperReports. Utilizing an Oracle 9i database, the application was deployed to Websphere using Ant.

  • Developed an accounting module (within the ECommerce application) that utilized the AppXtender/Web Services API to retrieve document images from a Content Management System.   • Also designed and developed two ActiveX controls and a Java applet. The Java applet was a Java implementation of the ActiveX color picker.

  • Designed and developed an Internet/Intranet based Commissions/Rebates application system for Voicecom. Utilizing Enterprise Java Servlets, JDBC, Oracle database, WebMacro (similar to JSP), HTML, DHTML, and JavaScript and loaded onto an Apache server (running JServ) within a Unix environment, the system quickly proved itself to be an invaluable asset, resulting in an immediate increase in company revenue (1 year).
  • Also designed and implemented an Intranet based application for Voicecom whereby users could search, manage, and maintain an Oracle database of toll free numbers. The application was created using Enterprise Java Servlets, JDBC, WebMacro (similar to JSP), HTML, DHTML, and JavaScript (6 months).
  • Responsible for successfully merging various accounting departments onto a single, unified accounting system during the merger of Norrell and Interim by transferring data from PeopleSoft to Ross. The transfer of data was accomplished using Visual Basic, Access ’97, and the Excel Object Model (1 month).
  • Managed and coordinated the enhancement of a Visual Basic Point of Sale system to be used by over 550 individual Precision Auto Care franchises. Through careful analysis, several key components were successfully redesigned, resulting in a more robust, performance enhanced, reliable system (1 month).
  • Designed five separate Report Managers using Visual Basic and SQL Server for Geac to be used internally by over 70 offices in 18 countries (1 month).
  • Redesigned, enhanced, and optimized several Access ’97 databases being used in the Accounting Department of Bellsouth International, leading to a greater efficiency and accuracy that in most cases reduced the amount of time spent on several tasks from many hours to just a few minutes (1 ½ months).
  • Designed and developed an address verification program for Worldspan that would eliminate duplicate and approximate duplicate data from a very large DB2 database. Utilizing a binary tree search, a revised implementation of the Soundex algorithm, RDO, embedded SQL, and a Visual Basic interface, the application was optimally designed for both efficiency and accuracy (1 month).
  • Ported a DOS - based fixed asset accounting system to a Windows-based Access ’97 system using Visual Basic, macros, and SQL for Alcan Cable (1 ½ months).
