- Accounting Package: Friedman
- Developed from scratch a VB.Net Inquiry application for “surfing” accounting data. Query definitions were coded in a custom scripting language. The front-end GUI parsed the definitions and organized itself appropriately—eliminating the need to maintain any bloated GUI code and streamlining the development process. Besides the usual sorting, filtering, expression columns, and cut & paste functionality, the application dynamically determined which columns were related to other queries: this allowed the users to jump to related data sets without having to go through a tedious maze of button clicks and screens. The application also used a tabbed-MDI model, allowing the user to look back at old results and refresh them as desired.
- Developed from scratch a receiving label application for use with Zebra printers.
- Developed extensive modifications to an ASP.Net application. Made use of techniques to make the pages more dynamic—streamlining code and increasing the flexibility of the application. After the deployment, users said, “the upgrades are a tremendous help and our customers are giving ‘thumbs up’ on the new features.” Thanks to several iterations in the requirements gathering stage (and heavy testing) I delivered a bug-free system on the first deployment.
- Used NUnit to create testing frameworks for mission critical applications.
