This provisioning application interacts with Telecom devices to activate the modem for complex HSI (High Speed Internet) and VOIP (Voice over IP) services. With higher visibility across the business and direct impact on the top line of balance sheet, this mission critical application is used by all of our customers to quickly get setup and start using our services.
Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for re-Architecture using Spring MVC Framework on a JBoss cluster and be the technical point of contact for any application integration issues.
  • CORBA, SOAP, SSH and EJB calls are made to interact with other middle ware services, so as to allow remote activations through a DMZ and also integrate with AS400 servers using XML files.
  • With Oracle as the back end and XML based data transformations (XML/XSL/XSD), this n-tier application uses JXBeans as underlying framework architecture for loosely coupling a "Chain of responsibility" pattern.
  • Version control is managed by Subversion, using Tortoise SVN and the application ran on a cluster of Linux and Solaris servers.
  • Defect tracking and Project Management were managed using RedMine and Ant was used as the standard Build & Deploy tool.
  • RUP software development methodology has been adopted for development of project and experienced the SDLC process for development, deployment and production support.
  • Re-factored and re-designed some of the business objects, so as to better interact with underlying network devices and wrote JUnit tests to verify their functionality.
