Scrum Master & Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Led a SCRUM teams (5-7 staff) to develop a commercial Short Term Load Forecast Service for Electric Utilities. The implementation supports SOAP, REST and ESB interfaces. This Short Term Forecast is a key enabler of SMaRT GRiD utility management.
  • I introduced the product-line staff to Object-Relational mapping technology, JBoss’s Hibernate, which decouples application logic from DBMS implementations. I modeled the persistent objects with Visio; mapped them to POJOs; created custom DAOs. I shared this technique at brown-bag luncheon presentations. This contributes to improved profit margins due to increased programmer productivity and lower 3rd party, DBMS, licensing costs.
  • I led a Six-Sigma project entitled Test Driven Development. This project improved programmer productivity; reduced the chance for defects to pass and ultimately reduced the time-to-market of our new commercial software product initiatives.
