- Worked on a team to implement a site-redesign project using Java, JSP, and Servlet API to provide a common user interface and menu system for all of ups.com. The project extended Struts as the web application framework, using the MVC design pattern. The framework allowed for configuration files for each individual application, as well as for internationalization. This project involved the use of the Rational Unified Process (RUP) and the Unified Modeling Language (UML).
- As a developer, worked with Struts, JSP, JavaBeans, JSP Tag-Libraries, Log4j, Ant, JDBC, XML, and Tomcat. Our team developed a web application that allowed retail package locations to accept packages for drop-off. This gave the retail locations access to the UPS databases for further package information and scheduling for pickup.
- Worked on a team that managed the UPS online tools web site, this work included debugging, and refactoring Java code that originally provided a template-engine for the sites content. Our team modified the original application code, implementing the MVC design pattern for future maintenance.
