SUMMARY:

I am submitting this resume to CareerBuilder in order to find employment in the field of software engineering and development.
I enjoy building useful tools, and would welcome any opportunity that provides me with the chance to do so.
I believe that the first fundamental test of any piece of software is whether it is straightforward to use.
With the exception of certain high - performance algorithms buried deep within the code, every piece of a program is intended for interaction, whether that be with the end-user, who cannot be expected to understand how the program works, or with fellow programmers, who cannot be expected to readily decipher unclear or misleading interfaces.
Clarity at all levels is ideal, and it is this aspect of software engineering to which I devote the most care and attention.
I developed several extensions to Confidential 'software, one of which - Confidential - has been widely adopted by thousands of wikis.
During my time at Confidential, I developed an end-to-end ticketing system to allow employers to offload the process of background check data entry to their prospective employees, as well as providing several ease-of-use improvements to the administrative backend.
I helped to unify several key components of the primary and mobile websites, greatly reducing the overall cost of maintenance, while also overhauling and streamlining the process of backend template injection.
In every case, I have paid careful attention to the structures of the existing system to ensure that my additions could be readily adopted by my fellow contributors, and that my modifications improved clarity and reduced the possibility of error.
I consider myself proficient in Javascript, Java, HTML/CSS, PHP, and MySQL, and furthermore possess experience in C++, Python, and Bash.
