PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Project Manager / Lotus Notes Developer
Confidential, Arlington, VA
Responsibilities:
- Managed support team working overseas. Worked on improving an important application that has over hundred users all over the world, the database was going close to 64 GIG and all the data was about lost. That would mean loosing the work of hundreds of users for at least a week worth.
- The data was recovered by first deleting the indexes which were about 3 gig and then directing the team in India for manual deletion of duplicates, consistently so that the size became bearable to be able to run agents for archiving.
- Corrected the archiving agent so that it would not copy to different tiers the same document with the same unique id creating duplicates, this happened when missing documents were added from the last restore.
- The database when transitioned from HP to the Indian team and went through several developers was very unstable due to lack of professionalism on part of management and developers carrying out quick fixes on production data causing the application to crash several times. Corrected the situation and was not going to recommend supporting the applications with quick fixes, and was planning to devise a permanent solution to avoid future crashes.
- Read and understood detailed code both Lotus Script and Java behind this complex application, and brought it out of a sinking project to a running project by applying administrative and developmental fixes.
