Responsibilities:
- Software and technical lead for the design, build, test, and integration of the SHEL Laser on the USAF Airborne Laser program.
- Team achieved delivery of a SHEL Laser that supported Flight Low Power System Integration of the USAF Airborne Laser in 2007.
- Designed, tested, and integrated approximately 50,000 lines of source code that managed all aspects of the laser hardware, optical position sensors (under 150 micro-second frame rates), control over diode power levels, chiller pump electronics, shutter control, hardwire abort management, and engagement state management.
- A true embedded software and hardware system from power up to power down wif automated control over hardware. C (VxWorks) and C++ were used for application development.
