• Confidential is a Unified Communication software and service creation platform to deliver VoIP communication features either as a stand-alone application or through a series of web services. It uses SIP protocol for call control processing and IBM WebSphere or BEA WebLogic as the underlying J2EE platform. Either Dialogic/Cantata or Radisys/Convedia IP Media Server is used for media manipulation like audio mixing, streaming, etc.
• Voice/Fax Messaging, Auto-Attendant, Audio Conferencing, Notification Services, Click-2-Call, etc are the various features that are provided by IperiaVX . • Confidential is actively engaged in migrating huge amount of documents from legacy systems Lotus Notes to state-of-art Java/J2EE/Documentum/Oracle/EMC architecture to enable efficient web-based management of Engineering and Service documents. The target environment consists of Java/J2EE/WebLogic front-end, Documentum middleware suite and Oracle DB as well as EMC file stores at back-end.
• The project consisted of 2 major scope areas executed from HP offshore development center in Chennai, India:
• 1 MIGRATION of SSPR Self Service Publish and Retrieval and EDM Engineering Document Management business documents from legacy systems into the new EMC/Documentum repository space
• 2 CUSTOMIZATION of Documentum/WebTop 5.3 client as per requirements to provide multi-faceted transactional access to the migrated documents under Documentum Content Server 5.3.

Contribution

• As the Java/J2EE Architect of the project, completely responsible for the technical success of the initiative with primary focus on the Java/J2EE components of the GDM application. Below are the various contributions made in this challenging role:
• Detailed study and understanding of the target System Architecture in Production with regard to Hosts hardware, Software components, Communication Protocols and Storage Capacity sizing requirements
• Defined in detail the System Architectures for the various staging platforms at offshore center consisting of Development, Testing and QA environments in order to successfully execute and deliver the project from India

• Project Description J2EE Product Development
• Aquest Systems is involved in developing a next generation Automated Material Handling Systems AMHS with the trade name SureQuest for tomorrows semiconductor fabs. While SureQuest consists of hardware as well as software components, the software part is called SureNet . SureNet in turn has Transport Systems Controller TSC which is basically a J2EE application that executes commands received from a higher level MCS computer Material Control System of a semiconductor manufacturing plant.
• TSC is responsible routing the FOUPs that are nothing but carriers of semi wafers, from one source semi tool / stocker location to another destination tool / stocker location within a semiconductor plant. TSC achieves this by creating and sending 'Move Tickets' to conveyor segment controllers SGC that are real-time systems driving the hardwares that physically move the FOUPs across locations in the semi fab.

• Confidential is a Ford corporate intranet web based application for tracking various Pre-Delivery Inspection PDI activities that the imported cars will undergo at the Vehicle Development Centre VDC of PAG Import, Inc. in Toyohashi Port Japan before delivery to the Dealer destinations in Japan. The vehicle activities tracking is done for 4 brands of vehicles imported by PAG- Japan and processed at VDC Toyohashi and the brands are: Volvo, Ford, Jaguar and Land Rover. Around 120 vehicles are processed online through the POEMS application every business day with around 150 concurrent users.
• The data captured during the PDI activities of the vehicle immediately after arrival at Toyohashi port, until they are dispatched to Japanese dealers, are continuously processed online as well as batch and extensive screen-based reports are generated periodically for calculating the Accounts including various sub-contractor Costs involved.
• The application has approx 70 JSP/HTML screens and around 140 Oracle DB tables. The application was integrated with AS/400 legacy systems using MQSeries as the EAI technology. There were modules working in Hand Held Pocket PC Mobile devices too both online as well as offline.

• As a Senior Project Consultant, worked both offshore India and onsite Japan with below responsibilities covering hands-on technology leadership and application as well as team management:

• Major Component Tracking System provides intranet / extranet web based access to operational history details of Cat's major serialized components from the day they are shipped from the factory until those critical components are scrapped. The failure reasons for the Components are closey tracked and investigated through this web based system to help Caterpillar analyse the repair/remanufacture patterns and reduce the overall warranty cost for the major components like Engines, Transmissions, Torque Converter, etc.
• The data containing all the serialized Components and Parts of Caterpillar are stored in DB2/390 and fed from other Mainframe application systems using COBOL JCL at the backend. The data is accessed through intranet / extranet web screens by the user at the front-end.

• Confidential is Caterpillar's corporate-level intranet /extranet web based tool for querying into the huge Engineering Parts database stored in DB2/390 back-end and accessed through IMS DC transactions using Java/Applets front-end and Java/Servlets in the middle-tier.
• The project involved migrating the existing middle tier C components from DCE server to Java/Servlet components on IBM WebSphere environment. There were totally around 20 such major functional components migrated from C/ DCE to Java/ WebSphere middle tier. The backend IMS Transactions remained the same and are now accesed through IBM's Java-2-IMS connector interface software in the converted new scenario.

Confidential is a division of Lexis-Nexis. Confidential is in the process of migrating most of their Document Information Management Systems from IBM mainframe based legacy systems into Java distributed component based environment with Microsoft based front-end and EJB / Oracle based back-end.

Contribution

Was part of a 3-member rapid solution provider team from Navidec and started the work from the baseline Java archetype patterns. Was responsible for design understanding, prototype development, coding, functional and load testing, deployment of EJB components consisting mainly of Oracle based persistent entities associated to various Business Objects encapsulating different kinds of properties, etc and also Session Beans to take care of various Business Rules. Also did user documentation, training, and mentoring for the CIS engineers mainly in the EJB technology arena.

• Confidential is in the process of introducing a new broadband product called ION to consumers. ION necessitated the modification of existing business systems as well as definition of new business entities. ECOMMS is one such new eBusiness system designed and developed to cater to the FMS/CPE applications of Sprint's SETS dept. ECOMMS stands for Eqpmt/Consumer Information Mangmt. System deployed through BEA WebLogic over Sprint intranet.
• All the CLEI / CLLI data stored in existing DB2 based RDBMS were used to provide object oriented interface to the enterprise clients using RMI protocol. All the basic functionalities like create, query, add, update, validate, construct the info in the data source are provided through wrapper objects and EJB componenets in the form of Entity CMP / Session beans Stateless/Stateful . Project Description

Involved in application development/process reengineering/Data Base migration Services for a total of 5 application groups under Unemployment Insurance - Benefit Information System. The data base migration was from some legacy DB ADABAS to DB2/400. The total scope was around 500 program modules. The project was done on-site at IDES office in Chicago loop. This project was part of IDES's major eSolutions initiative with the idea of providing effective service to the customers in the future through eBusiness processes

Confidential was having long-term memorandum of understanding with Ford for offshore maintenance of the latter's WIPS and CPARS Parts Purchase modules under production in their Detroit based IBM mainframe system. There were totally around 15 terminals at HCL's offshore development centre dedicated for the Ford project and connected online to Ford's Detroit based IBM mainframe through high speed data satellite link.

Contribution

Involved in the problem identification, trouble shooting, code fixing / modifications, and testing for the WIPS and CPARS modules. Was coordinating a team of 5 programmers. Conducted time studies to improve the team productivity for this ongoing day-to-day maintenance work.

Confidential is the major product of SCSI. Ameritech, Nations Bank and Advanta are Customers of SCSI. BIAS is a comprehensive package that links various Credit Bureaus, like Dun Bradsheet, TRW, and EquiFax, to the Customers' IBM Mainframe. With BIAS, the customer can request, store, display, analyse and print the business and credit data retrieved on-line CICS / APPC from the Credit Bureaus and stored in the local Data Base DB2 / VSAM of the Customers' system.

Contribution

Involved in the Functional Enhancement of BIAS as per SCSI's specifications. Enhancements were done in Error messaging/reporting modules and in a number of CICS screens. Work was done on-site at SCSI, Maryland.

Project Description

• Tata Steel was having a number of captive power plants and had requirements to simulate the power plants processes as well as operations for training and design improvement purposes.
• As MS-Dos was not basically a real-time system, a proprietory real-time system ISSPEX was developed to run under MS-Dos environment and a mathematical model of the power plant processes were developed and installed to work on this real-time engine. While TurboPascal was used for all mathematical modeling, TurboC was used for graphic user interfaces.
